In 1998 a United Nations Archeological Preservation Team discovered the Royal Guard Dragons in the Knarwood Forest in Central Europe. The Royal Guard Dragon Society (RGDS) was formed to study and to protect these marvelous creatures belonging to one of the few remaining species of domesticated dragons. Operating from a secret research facility outside of Austin, Texas, RGDS researchers have learned much about the history of the Royal Guard Dragons and the Royal Guard Dragons' long relationship with humans.

The Knarwood Manuscript
Back Cover Text: My health is failing from the rigors of the past years and I fear I shall not live much longer. As a result, I have decided to break my Dragon Keeper oath and pen what I know so mankind might someday use my words to understand and, if the Royal Guard Dragons survive, to cherish theses marvelous creatures. I hope that when I join my departed fellow Dragon Keepers, they will consider my situation when doling out my punishment for this transgression.

The Royal Guard Dragons introduced RGDS researchers to a couple of the Forest Fairies who befriended the Royal Guard Dragons when they fled to the Knarwoods to avoid persecution. One is "Star Dancer", a name given to her because she dances among the stars. The second is "Karena", which Star Dancer informs us means beautiful. When Star Dancer saw the Royal Guard Dragon sculptures she asked if we'd make one of her and Karena. We did and also added some of the Royal Guard Dragons' other Forest Friends.
