This sculpture “Speed Is Life” depicts the Royal Guard Dragon "Lightning" in a downhill aerodynamic racing tuck.  It is one of a limited edition of 500, each handcrafted by the RGDS's resident artist Nino Nardecchia.

Her wings give her just enough lift to smooth out the ride and reduce the friction of her skis on the snow allowing her to hit absolute maximum speed.  The Forest Fairies named her Lightning when they saw her racing cloud-to-cloud lightening and winning!  Lightning is always looking for bigger and better speed thrills.
